Haha, I can hear the StanSB in it for sure, especially how the sub bass kinda overpowers the low end. I really wouldn't call this DnB though. It's not even on the DnB radar in my mind, but that's not important. The song was fun, but a little forgettable. Still worth a listen.

Liquid DnB is a little closer to the tranceish side of things in the DnB spectrum, but i'd still say it's DnB.

Also, the kick is drowned out because i sucked at mastering this one.

This is pretty cool. The mixing is good, though it sounded a bit...live? That's an odd critique knowing this is done in a sequencer, haha. The melodies were nice, but they didn't catch me in that magical way. I haven't read through your huge description, but I liked the concepts the song presented. I dunno though, there's just something ultimately forgettable about the melodies themselves.

That's a good sign in my eyes because I spent ages trying to make it sound "live" :P.

I dunno about that. It might be because the song changes its mood so much so there's not as much consistency which means it might be more forgettable. Also I invented the melody for this song during writer's block so it might not be top-notch. I'm a bit more happy with the harmony and transitions rather than the actual melodies themselves, to be honest :P.

This has some really great synths in it. My favorite part was the beginning with the reggae feel. :)

I agree with your analysis of it. The bass is pretty weird, and the synths could really use something. Throw some blaring square wav arpeggios in there or sommat.

It's different, though, so that's a plus haha.

It's not terrible, but it's too long for the content. Good background music, I suppose, but it's ultimately forgettable.

The mixing wasn't half bad though. It sounded full even though it was very simple, which is saying something.

Hmm

It was just alright to me. There wasn't really much dubstep in there, and when there was it felt pretty weak because the bass didn't have enough of a low end.

Genre aside, the song felt unfinished and a bit hollow in places. It had a nice clean feeling in the beginning, but it became a little too empty later on and there was never much contrast to liven it up. You also repeated some things in a mechanical way that felt like it was just lengthening the song and not really adding to it.

Still, it wasn't terrible and the mixing and synths were nice.

yeah the entire bassline is from an 8 second sample so I had to chop it up and mess with it all the way through and naturally some repetition happened there. Thanks for the feedback!

Wow...

This was so melodic and dramatic and calming, and yet it still managed to be dubstep. I've really never heard anything quite like it. I think the mixing could have been a little stronger, but that's a never ending struggle, I know. I think you got the most out of it.

Hmmm

You know, I really like it, but it seems quite unfinished. I could see this going places though. As it is, it's kind of hollow and the melody seems a bit random.

You know, it's almost more like a tech demo for a bass synth.
