I think Disney has finally had their standards destroyed by the next generation of kids.

Really, large corporations know that if they make a movie with somewhat cute animals in it they'll at least make a profit off it.

I went to an amusement park today, and it was horrible... The two most fun rides had been removed over the winter and replaced with:
- a 40-foot drop
- a hole in the ground

Corporations know that they can make money by marketing this stuff to the perfect audience - little kids, screaming their heads off at their parents so they can go to the movie with a chihuaua in it. In the case of my theme park comparison, they probably thought it was too extreme for kids or something...

I knew Disney was fucked when they fired their animation devision (although in case anyone's wondering I think in Adam Phillips case he chose to leave himself), only to hire Pixar in their place realizing what a stupid mistake they made. This shit looks like it was pitched by either a crack head, a furry or a very drunk Paris Hilton, there's a fine line between a family movie and whatever the fuck you can call this piece of shit. Also I really don't know what these big companies problem is, just because 3D works out cheaper to produce in the long run doesn't mean it should always be the method of choice. When someone like disney looses faith in their 2D animation devision and makes shit like this, it's no wonder so many people are becoming freelancers.

P.S. stop kidding yourself fanboys, no-one except you wants to see a kingdom hearts movie

Xelaron, the reason why everyone is upset is because we remember our childhood growing up with Disney movies and its upsetting to see 101 Dalmations and Lady and the Tramp upstaged by tiny annoying "real" dogs that rap. After all, those movies were rich in storyline and actual effort and, well, an actual moral for the children, this movie will rot their little brains. So, sure, we aren't the target audiance, but, like all old people, we feel that these young kids need better entretainment. And though that may sound lame, I absolutly believe it to be true.

For me, Disney has one last chance to prove us all wrong. The Princess and the Frog is going to be a 2D animation film by them (check wiki for details) and if it has an actual point (for one, they are putting the first black princess which I approve of) I will keep the faith.

But yes, PotC was good! Maybe we are all just overreacting :)

Disney's been rock bottom for a while now, though. There hasn't been a single decent Disney movie ever since all the classics like Beauty and the Beast, Sword in the Stone, and all those others. It's mostly been 'sequels' and 'bad ideas that are made even worse,'

Pixar is the only thing Disney-related at all that I like anymore... And Disney doesn't even help out with any of Pixar's movies. They just watch them work and slap a Disney label on the movie when they're done.
